The Bullfrog is our newest Spinning Wheel model, and hit the market in August 2018. It folds up in seconds for easy carrying and includes three 16 oz bobbins. The carrying handle makes it easy to bring with you to fairs and festivals. The heel pad folds up for a small footprint when not in use. 

At this time the Bullfrog is available in our most popular large flyer size (16 oz) which is also compatible with our 8 oz bobbins (sold separately). Spin up your singles on 8 oz bobbins and ply onto a 16 oz bobbin with room to spare. This 8 oz / 16 oz compatibility runs true on all of our wheel models. 

New treadle design has a deeper motion than any of our other wheels, which many spinners prefer as it feels more familiar to other brands.

The Monarch is our production studio wheel for professional spinners who need a comfortable wheel that they can spin at for hours. Featuring toe breaks for stopping on a dime, and different head sizes to choose from (4A oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, and 64 oz) - you can spin all weights of yarn from cobweb to rope.

WHAT IS A MODULAR WHEEL? Our 8 oz, 16 oz, 32 oz, and 64 oz setup are interchangeable between the Monarch and the Firefly. Design your own wheel by choosing your base and setup size, or swap setups between the bases for multiple wheel options.  

Formerly known as the MACH, this spinning wheel is equivalent to a MACH 4 featuring a new "knock-less" treadle design.

-Accelerator. This removable circular piece attaches between the base and the head of your Pollywog wheel, and does two things. First, it raises the height of the orifice of your Pollywog and gives you a total of 10 speeds for spinning finer weight yarns. Adding this accessory to the Pollywog is perfect for filling the 4 oz bobbins with finer yarns. 

-12 oz Upgrade. For spinners who want to explore the bulkier side of spinning - we have designed an upgrade with spacious 12 oz bobbins for art yarns, bulky textures, and huge yardage. This upgrade can also be attached to the accelerator for additional high speeds.

The Hopper is the original Travel Wheel and is unlike any other portable wheel on the market. It is the Original Art Yarn Travel Wheel but you can spin any weight of yarn from fine to bulky on eight comprehensive ratios (18:1, 12:1, 9:1, 6:1, 4.5:1, 4:1, 3:1, 2:1). The Echo has all the design features of the MACH III - but in a lightweight studio design. Weighing only 14 pounds, you can carry this wheel to vending events and classes with the handle in the back of the head. Priced similarly to the Pollywog (if you include all the accessories) this affordable spinning wheel is the perfect choice for spinners wanting one wheel to meet all their needs.

The 4-speed 4 oz setup has a ratio of 1:17 for spinning fine weight yarns. Corian whorl wheels (MACH III, Hopper, Firefly, Echo, King Bee, Queen Bee) were manufactured after 2015 until they were replaced by the GOLDEN WHORL. The ratios are perfect for spinning yarn weights from fine to extra bulky. 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

CORIAN WHORLS have ratios from about 1:4 to 1:20 (exact range varies per wheel model).

GOLDEN WHORLS have the same ratio range as corian whorls + fast ratios between 1:25 to 1:60 (exact range varies per wheel model) for spinners who want to explore the limits of superfine spinning.

GOLDEN WHORLS have less flyer drag to make spinning short-staple fibers (like cotton) effortless. 

If you have a Hopper and want to add a size to your wheel, you will need to purchase a CORIAN WHORL Upgrade from your Dealer, as the Hoppers are not compatible with GOLDEN WHORL engineering.

The SpinOlution Lazy Kate fits all bobbin sizes except the 64 oz. It can be placed on the floor for easy plying next to all of our wheels, or attached to the MACH III, Echo, and Firefly. Plying with the Kate attached is easiest when bobbins or plying threads are on the outermost rods of the Kate.

We also have a Lazy Kate that attaches exclusively to the Hopper as well.

The skein winder can wind both 1 & 2 yard skeins. It can be inserted onto the MACH III, Echo, Firefly, Hopper, and King Bee on any setup 8 oz or larger - just like a bobbin. It cannot be inserted into a 4 oz setup because it is too wide, and it cannot be inserted into the 12 oz setup because it is too long.

The skein winder will lock into place on the 8 oz flyer - as it is the same size as an 8 oz bobbin. Secure it with the magnetic orifice bar on the 8 oz setup, as well as the 16 & 32.  

The skein winder is included in the Echo, Hopper, Firefly, and MACH III Package Deals. 

The skein winder comes apart into two pieces and lays flat for easy storage and transportation.

The Niddy Noddy can wind both 1 & 2 yard skeins. The size is best for unwinding skeins from our 4 oz & 8 oz bobbins. For larger skeins (16 oz & 32 oz bobbins) we recommend the skein winder accessory. Our niddy noddy is portable, with easy carrying handles, and made from baltic birch.

The niddy noddy is not included in Package Deals.

ACCELERATED....

Many of our fine-spinning customers requested higher ratios, so we designed a head upgrade with a built-in accelerator for short staple spinning. As far as we know, these are the highest ratios available on upright wheels in the industry today. 

ECHO accelerated ratio goes up to 1:40

FIREFLY accelerated ratio is variable 

This upgrade is available as a 4 oz size only. When you are spinning at such high speeds, the smaller the bobbin - the better the performance. Also, since these speeds are for spinning the finest of yarns, a 4 oz bobbin is perfectly adequate for those weights.

64 OZ.. it's BIG

It can fit over 4 pounds of worsted weight single. It was originally designed for the Firefly, as a production unit for spinning and plying bulk quantities of yarn. It also fits the MACH III - although most spinners prefer using the electric Firefly base to power the momentum, rather than treadling this workhorse manually.

This setup is great for the fiber artist who wants all the yardage they could ever dream of. It is perfect for making huge art yarn and bulky skeins, but engineered to spin fine yarns as well. 

What types of yarn can I spin on the 64 oz? Our test spinners were able to spin worsted to super bulky. Due to the high tension required to pull heavier yarns onto the bobbin, this setup is not appropriate for spinning fine weight yarns. This is the only setup size in our collection that is not able to spin all weights of yarn. 

What is the momentum like on this upgrade? Powerful. This wheel does not stop on a dime, like our other wheels. It is so heavy that the momentum it has is perfect for spinning large quantities of single or plying with thread. But it is not designed for stop-and-start fine tune or embellished work.
